A club for every kind of bowler
A great game, good company, and room to grow
Goldenacre Bowling Club has been part of the Edinburgh community since 1942. Our outdoor green brings people together through the season, from relaxed roll-ups to league fixtures and club competitions. You can choose how involved you’d like to be: learn the game, play for fun, represent the club, or enjoy the social side.
Never played before? You’re in good company. Beginners can get free introductory coaching and borrow equipment while they try bowls. You don’t need to arrive knowing the rules — just get in touch and we’ll help you take the first steps.
More than a roll-up
Make the season your own
There are plenty of ways to enjoy the green and be part of the club.
Club competitions
Play alongside fellow members in internal competitions, including singles, pairs, triples and rinks. They’re a chance to challenge yourself, learn from others and share in the club’s traditions.
Learn and enjoy
Start with friendly coaching and social roll-ups, then decide how far you want to take your game. There’s no pressure to compete — enjoy bowls at your own pace.

Be part of the club
Bowls is only part of the story. Meet people, enjoy the clubhouse and bar, and join in with social events through the year. Our club also has a pool table and a function hall, so there are plenty of ways to feel at home at Goldenacre.
